Head of Construction
To install ducts and clear duct blockages
Daily vehicle and plant checks and completing the driving log
Logging and updating daily whereabouts
Taking charge of the site and directing operatives work
Completing an on-site risk assessment (including relevant utility prints)
Ensuring that all open structures, vehicles and equipment are guarded.
Scanning and marking out the excavation area
Photographing any existing damage
Excavating using safe digging techniques
Excavating using mechanical means only where safe to do so.
Installing duct to the client's specification
Installing a draw rope in the new duct(s)
Identifying the blocked bore(s)
Confirming the location of the blockage
Clearing the blockage and repairing the duct to the client's specification .
Confirming the absence of further blockages in the duct length
Installing a draw rope in the repaired duct(s)
Backfilling and reinstating the surface to the HAUC specification
Completing the Local Authority Civils Registration form R1 and sending it to the gang whatsapp group
Clearing and closing the site
Completing the A55
The on-site safety and security of all vehicles, equipment and plant.
Civils work for utilities training, and/or on the job training
Knowledge of relevant quality standards.
Company and Client induction
NRSWA Units LA and O1 - O8
Gas Testing (SA002 Safety Underground)
Current driving license (appropriate for the vehicle/trailer)
Appropriate plant qualifications.
