With the increasing demand from consumers for ever increasing bandwidth to satisfy IPTV, games, VOD and e-business applications, operators are looking to future proof their networks and to attract and secure customers. From GPON and PON topology, fibre to the cabinet, kerb and home can be designed utilising existing core infrastructure or from a green field perspective to satisfy individual commercial/ residential properties or multi dwelling units.

Either client design parameters are specified or designs are to a pre agreed fibre type, attenuation and dispersion along with current legislative and regulative requirements.

Plancast’s super-fast broadband design utilises buried micro duct designs to lower civil engineering costs, blown fibre for optimal installation performance and a programme that allows gradual cable deployment. With larger buildings fibre designs are internally routed with approved pre terminated distribution cables and the use of G657 single mode fibre with very small bend radius for fast easy installation via a simplified cable system design.

Where this is not possible external designs utilising LSOH sheath resistant to fire according to EN50290-2-27 are proposed. For rural areas an aerial design can be deployed with pole distribution boxes and optical wall outlets. This has the benefits of large cable spans, easy access and a complete system covering aerial accessories and customer connection materials where civil engineering costs are prohibitive.
